Falls, the Nile forces its way through a gap in the rocks, only 7 m.
Murchison Falls became one of Uganda’s first national parks in 1952
The 1951 film “The African Queen” starring Humphrey Bogart was filmed on

After breakfast , enjoy the great safari experience ( game drive) of Murchison
Falls National Park , Murchison is Uganda’s largest national park and is spread
around the Nile. It is lush with natural beauty so looking for THE BIG FIVE
from the comfort of our 4WD is enjoyable!
Safari fact : In Africa , the big five game animals are the lion , African Elephant
, buffalo , leopard and rhinoceros. The term “BIG FIVE” was coined by big-
ancient game hunters and refers to the five most difficult animals in Africa to
hunt on foot using traditional tools!
After lunch ( cca.2pm) we”ll exit land and enter water . Enjoy a boat ride on the
Nile to see the famous waterfalls from another angle. You “ll be surrounded by
crocodiles and hippos so leave your bathing suit at home!!!

Day 4: Murchison to lake Albert / rift valley or Budongo forest!

Where I actually
recommend , we do chimp tracking here and then later drive to Fort Portal and
visit crater lakes and the Nyinamwiru Healing waters.
Lake Albert is located on the border between Uganda and the Democratic
Republic of the Congo. It is the northernmost of the chain of lakes in
the Albertine Rift, the western branch of the East African Rift.
Amabere Ga Nyina Mwiru is a strong cultural heritage site among the Batooro
the main tribe in this area. The name Amabere Ga Nyina Mwiru interprets as
“the breasts of Nyinamwiru”. There is a legend that has it that, Nyinamwiru’s
breasts were cut off by his father King Bukuku, and thrown in the caves.
It is also possible to take a break from 4 wheels and explore the region by
bicycle + some short hikes on Rwenzori mountains while enjoying crater lakes
and various views plus sceneries .
Accommodation – Lake Nkuruba nature reserve campsite (budget)
Kibale Forest camp ( midrange- luxury)

Day 5: Forto Portal!

Fort Portal was named after British diplomat Sir Gerald Portal, as it was where his base was.
After breakfast explore more also crater lakes and nature walks, etc

Day 6: Driving to Queen Elizabeth National Park!

Queen Elizabeth National Park is the most popular savanna park in Uganda and
the best place to see lions including the Tree Climbing lions making it the perfect destination for a Uganda Wildlife Safari. It prides in a great diversity of
habitats that include: lakes, savannah grasslands, forests and wetlands that serve
as home to the biggest variety of large mammals in the country.
Queen Elizabeth National Park spans the equator line; monuments on either side of the road marking the exact spot where it crosses latitude 00.
The park was founded in 1952 as Kazinga National Park and renamed two years
later to commemorate a visit by Queen Elizabeth II of England.
We make a stop for 20 mins for photos at the equator , the drive is short but
scenic as we will be driving around Ruwenzori mountains !
Accommodation – Bush Lodge ( upper budget , midrange or luxury )
Kingfisher Lodge ( upper midrange )

Day 7: Queen Elizabeth National Park!

Morning game drive, afternoon boat ride on the channel and head to Ishasha in the evening.
Queen Elizabeth is home to the greatest family of mammals in Uganda after
Murchison National Park , it is hard not to appreciate it’s 2000sq km landscape
bordered by the Rwenzori Mountains and Lake Edward, great views and
scenary!!!!

Day8: Queen Elizabeth National Park!

Morning game drive in the southern side of the park to track the tree climbing
lions in Ishasha till around lunch time .
After lunch we start driving to Bwindi / Mgahinga gorilla national park!!
The Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is a national park in
southwestern Uganda. It is part of the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest and is
situated along the Democratic Republic of the Congo border next to the Virunga
National Park and on the edge of the Albertine Rift
The park is a sanctuary for colobus monkeys, chimpanzees, and many birds
such as hornbills and turacos. Here we have lots of lodges options depending on the location we will track
gorillas!!!
Accommodation – Ruhondeza Lodge, Broadbill camp, Gorilla Valley Lodge or Travellers rest Lodge.

Day 9: Track Gorillas

Trekking to see mountain gorillas in Uganda can be physically demanding.
Being in decent shape and prepared for what’s involved will greatly increase
your chances of success.

Two places in Uganda for Gorilla Trekking! 1.1

1.1 Bwindi – Largest forest and national Park for gorillas! It’s also the most well
known on internet and also in guide books!
It’s super beautiful impenetrable forest with over 20 gorilla family!
PLEASE SHARE your body fitness stage so we can advice according to
how difficult the trail is.

Two places in Uganda for Gorilla Trekking! 2.2

2.2 Kisoro ( Mgahinga Gorilla National Park)
The park takes its name from “Gahinga” – the local word for the piles of
volcanic stones cleared from farmland at the foot of the volcanoes.
Size: 33.7km 2 , making it Uganda’s smallest National Park.
Mgahinga has one habituated transboundary gorilla group Mgahinga Gorilla National Park is located in the Virunga Mountains and
encompasses three inactive volcanoes, namely Mount Muhabura, Mount
Gahinga, and Mount Sabyinyo.

About Gorilla Trekking! Nyakagezi group!

The Nyakagezi gorilla family is the only fully habituated gorilla group in Mgahinga Gorilla National Park. Given that it is the only habituated gorilla
family, it offers visitors a great opportunity to track the rare mountain gorillas in the wild. The Nyakagezi family is composed of 9 members; 4
silver backs, 2 infants, 2Adults females 1 juvenile. The dominant silverback is Mark who took over leadership from his father Bugingo.
I like this group because if you are lucky you can see GOLDEN
MONKEYS , IT’S THE ONLY PLACE IN THE WORLD where GOLD
meets SILVER!!!!!!
Kisoro is in the far south west of Uganda and it borders Rwanda and Congo!
Have a lazy afternoon/ evening and chill after gorilla tracking!
The trail is slightly easier than most of the Bwindi places and can be favorable for old and those that have less time plus those prefer easy.

Day 10: Bunyonyi!

Lake Bunyonyi ("Place of many little birds") is in south-western Uganda between Kisoro and  Kabale , close to the border with Rwanda. the second-deepest lake in Africa!
The lake was formed about 18,000 years ago by a volcanic eruption
blocking a valley in the Ruchiga mountains near the present day village of Muko on the north-west tip of the lake.
Drive to lake Bunyonyi and take a scenic lake drive before having lunch a
the place with THE BEST view in the area!
We will stay there and rest after a small guided walk around the lake.

Day 11: Relax all day at the Bunyonyi lake and rest !!

Additional activities include visiting some island on the lake
Accommodation – The sharp island gorilla lodge ( luxury) but we can also
find another options!

Day 12: Lake Mburo!

Lake Mburo National Park is a compact gem, located conveniently close to the highway that connects Kampala to the parks of western Uganda. It is the
smallest of Uganda’s savannah national parks and underlain by ancient Precambrian metamorphic rocks which date back more than 500 million
years. It’s a home to 350 bird species as well as zebras, impalas, elands, buffalos, oribi, Defassa waterbuck, leopard, hippo, hyena, topi and
reedbuck.
Drive from Bunyonyi to lake Mburo and explore the park on foot or bicycles!
Accommodation – best midrange to luxury at Rwakobo rock lodge
Leopard rest camp ( budget)

Enjoy lake Mburo and possible game drives etc.!

There is also an option of going to Ssese islands to relax for a day or two then back to Entebbe with a ferry. The islands occupy the northwestern
corner of Lake Nalubaale, the second-largest freshwater lake in the world.

There is also the option to add more days!

There is also an option of going from lake Mburo to Jinja and do the rafting.
That will make the trip 15- 16 Days total , this trip can also reduce to 12
days if you choose to leave out some activities but it can also increase to 17-
18 Days if you want more a relaxing trip!!
